Dear MN-FISH Member,

With the support of generous friends like you, MN-FISH is diligently shaping the future of angling in Minnesota. And just as fishing is deeply personal to you, it holds a cherished place in the hearts of MN-FISH and thousands of our dedicated members and supporters.

Your generous contributions have been pivotal in advancing our mission to make Minnesota’s fishing strong by preserving and enhancing our state’s fishing resources. As a valued member of the MN-FISH family, we are honored to invite you to the upcoming MN-FISH Anglers' Summit.

Join us to learn firsthand the impact of your contributions. You will have the opportunity to hear from other anglers and businesses that depend on quality fishing in Minnesota share their ideas for “Making MN Fishing Strong,” and have your own opportunity to participate.

The goal of the Anglers' Summit is to bring DNR fishery leaders together with state anglers. The day-long event will include presentations from Minnesota DNR about their proposed regulation changes to the state walleye limit from 6 to 4 and opening a year-round bass season. Then, MN-FISH will delve into many of the challenges impacting our fisheries in order to enhance angler’s experience.

MN-FISH president, Ron Schara, said the importance of anglers gathering to learn, listen and express their own ideas can’t be understated.

“For decades, state anglers didn’t have a voice in the legislature and interactions with DNR fisheries officials seldom moved the needle,’’ Schara said. "Our goal at MN-FISH is to be the angler’s voice and, if necessary, be the squeaky wheel to improve fish management efforts in Minnesota.”
