March 6, 2025: Help Manage Our Lakes

Dear Avid Angler,

You are invited to join your fellow anglers, angling organizations and the businesses that support us at the first MN-FISH Anglers’ Summit on March 27 in Grand Rapids.

There has never been a summit like this in Minnesota, where anglers and other stakeholders can come together and discuss some of the hottest topics affecting Minnesota fishing today!

Do you want your voice to be heard? Then, you don't want to miss this opportunity to change the direction of fisheries management for the future.

We are starting the Summit with Brad Parsons, head of Minnesota DNR Fisheries, who will highlight the agency’s reasons for wanting to change the state walleye limit from 6 fish to 4 and opening bass to year-round fishing.

This will be the first opportunity for the public to hear the agency's thoughts, ask your questions, and share your thoughts on these proposed regulation changes.

After lunch (provided free) we will dive into other critical topics:

  • Forward Facing Sonar - there is a growing push for increased regulation. Needed?
  • Musky Management - Minnesota used to offer the best musky fishing in the nation…what changed?
  • Northern Pike Management - Lakes across the state are overrun with small pike…how do we change this?
  • Stocking and its future — Are current levels meeting needs of state anglers?

The audience will also be given dedicated time to share what they believe needs to happen to improve fishing throughout Minnesota.

Register today with this early RSVP invitation - http://mn-fish.com/anglers-summit/. Seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. General registration starts on March 8th at MN-FISH.com

Summit is being held from 9-5 on March 27 at TimberLake Lodge in Grand Rapids. I look forward to seeing you personally.

Mark Holsten
MN-FISH Executive Director
